he has portrayed iconic detective characters including Byomkesh Bakshi

ABOUT ABIR CHATTERJEE

Born on 18 November 1980
in Kolkata, Abir Chatterjee comes from a family with strong theatre
connections. He is the son of theatre personalities
Phalguni Chatterjee and
Rumki Chatterjee.

Before entering mainstream Bengali cinema, Abir worked extensively
in Bengali television and telefilms. His theatrical lead debut came
with Cross Connection in
2009.

In 2010, he took on the iconic role of
Byomkesh Bakshi in Anjan
Dutt’s detective film. The success of the character led to multiple
films in the Byomkesh series and became one of the defining parts of
his career.

Abir subsequently developed a wide-ranging filmography that includes
Bojhena Bojhena, Hawa Bodol,
Jaatishwar, Badshahi Angti, Har Har Byomkesh, Bishorjan,
Kabir, Asur, Dwitiyo Purush and the Guptodhon franchise.

His recent work includes
Fatafati, Raktabeej, Kabuliwala,
Alaap, Babli, Bohurupi, Joto Kando Kolkatatei,
Raktabeej 2 and
Saptadingar Guptodhon.
