Renowned filmmaker Suman Ghosh has released the trailer for his upcoming movie, “Kabuliwala,” starring the legendary Mithun Chakraborty in the titular role of Rahmat. The sneak peek into the film has stirred a wave of Bengali nostalgia, transporting viewers back to the enchanting tale that many recall from the pages of a beloved book or the 1957 film adaptation.
The trailer provides a glimpse into the heartwarming narrative, chronicling the initial stages of the friendship between Mini and Kabuliwala. The story unfolds against the backdrop of a Kabuliwala family in Afghanistan, offering a fleeting look at the Kabuliwala’s daughter. From the girl’s handprint on a folded page to the intriguing Kabuliwala Jail, the two-minute and five-second video unveils key elements of the plot.
Anumegha Kahali shines as the endearing character of little Mini, capturing the audience’s attention in the short clip. The talented duo of Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar portray Mini’s parents, adding depth to the film’s familial dynamics.
Based on Rabindranath Tagore’s short story of the same name, “Kabuliwala” promises to be a cinematic journey that pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of Bengal.
