Subhashree Ganguly is one of the leading actresses of contemporary Bengali cinema. Beginning her journey as a model after winning the Anandalok Nayikar Khonje title, she gradually established herself as one of the most recognisable commercial stars in Bengali films. Her career includes major commercial successes, critically acclaimed performances, television appearances and OTT projects. From Challenge and Khoka 420 to Parineeta, Boudi Canteen, Indubala Bhaater Hotel, Babli and Grihapravesh, she has continuously expanded her range as a performer.

ABOUT SUBHASHREE GANGULY

Subhashree Ganguly was born on 3 November 1990 in Bardhaman, West Bengal. After completing her schooling, she entered the entertainment industry through the television reality show Anandalok Nayikar Khonje, which she won in 2006.

She subsequently began modelling and entered the film industry. Her first film appearance came with the Odia film Mate Ta Love Helare, while her Bengali film debut was Pitribhumi in 2007.

Subhashree rose to prominence with a series of commercially successful Bengali films. Her collaborations with Dev included Challenge, Paran Jai Jaliya Re, Romeo, Khokababu, Khoka 420 and Dhumketu.

Her pairing with Jeet also became popular through films such as Boss, Game, Abhimaan and Boss 2: Back to Rule. She also appeared opposite Bangladeshi star Shakib Khan in Nabab and Chalbaaz.

A major turning point came with Parineeta in 2019. Her portrayal of Mehul received critical acclaim and earned her the Filmfare Awards Bangla Best Actress award along with several other honours.

In the following years, she successfully moved between commercial cinema, character-driven films and OTT. Her performances in Boudi Canteen, Indubala Bhaater Hotel, Babli, Shontaan and Grihapravesh further strengthened her position as a versatile Bengali performer.
