Parambrata Chatterjee is one of the most versatile contemporary actors and filmmakers associated with Bengali cinema. Beginning his career in Bengali television and films, he established himself through performances across mainstream cinema, independent films, thrillers, drama and web series. He is also known for playing Topshe in the Feluda films and series directed by Sandip Ray, while his Hindi breakthrough came with Kahaani in 2012. Alongside acting, he has built a parallel career as a director, producer and writer.

ABOUT PARAMBRATA CHATTERJEE

Parambrata Chatterjee began his professional career in Bengali television and cinema in the early 2000s. His early screen appearances included Hemanter Pakhi, Bombaiyer Bombete and Bhalo Theko, gradually establishing him as a dependable young actor.

He became particularly popular for portraying Topshe in Sandip Ray’s Feluda films, including Bombaiyer Bombete, Kailashey Kelenkari and Tintorettor Jishu. The character became one of the defining roles of his early career.

His performance in Baishe Srabon and subsequent work in films such as Chotushkone, Hemanta, Traffic, Bulbbul, Dwitiyo Purush and Doctor Bakshi demonstrated his ability to move comfortably between different genres and character types.

Parambrata entered Hindi cinema with Kahaani in 2012, playing Rana opposite Vidya Balan. He subsequently appeared in projects such as Sold, Pari, Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi and Bulbbul.

Beyond acting, he has directed films including Jiyo Kaka, Hawa Bodol, Bony, Abhijaan and Boudi Canteen, while also working as a producer and writer.
