“Manush” revolves around Arjun Mukherjee (Jeet), an upright officer with the Narcotics Control Bureau, who single-handedly takes on the illegal drug trade in the city. Despite being a devoted family man at home, circumstances lead Arjun to transform into the formidable drug lord, Victor. The film delves into the events that caused this drastic shift in his character.

Star Performances: Jeet delivers a commendable performance, excelling both as the dedicated NCB officer Arjun and the convincing drug lord Victor. Jeetu Kamal captures attention with his portrayal of Mannan’s transformation from ‘Chhota’ to ‘Namaji.’ Sushmita Chatterjee, Aynya Chatterjee, Vidya Sinha, and Saurabh Chakraborty contribute decent performances to the ensemble cast.
Direction: Directed by Sanjoy Somadder, the film’s direction is deemed acceptable. While Jeet’s portrayal shines, the screenplay appears weak, and character establishment is lacking. The narrative seems to struggle to provide a seamless transition between Arjun’s two contrasting roles.
Technical Aspects: The music, composed by Savvy, Aneek Dhar, and Ahmed Humayun, receives a lukewarm response, and Anbu Selvan’s background score is effective. Cinematography by Prosenjit Chowdhury is visually pleasing, capturing the essence of the narrative. Ravi Varma’s action sequences add fiery and thrilling moments to the film. However, Malay Laha’s editing could have been tighter to enhance the overall pacing.
Pros:
- Jeet’s flawless performance .
- Attention-grabbing transformation of Jeetu Kamal’s character.
- Effective background music by Anbu Selvan.
- Visually appealing cinematography and thrilling action scenes.

Verdict:
“Manush” caters to Jeet’s specific audience, offering commendable performances and intense action. While the film falls short in certain narrative aspects, it remains watchable for fans of the genre, appreciating Jeet’s acting prowess and the adrenaline-pumping action.
