JAWAN is an explosive roller-coaster of entertainment with a powerful and pertinent message. Director Atlee delivers a massive hit that is sure to resonate with audiences across the board.
Movie Plot: “Jawan” follows the story of a mysterious man, played by Shah Rukh Khan, who is rescued by villagers near the border, recovers from a brutal injury, and later saves the village from militants. However, he loses his memory. Thirty years later, he hijacks a metro train in Mumbai with a gang of women and demands a significant sum of money from the government, which he plans to donate to an economically disadvantaged class. The plot involves the government’s efforts to handle the situation, the involvement of an arms dealer, and the unfolding of the mysterious man’s motives.
Star Performance: Shah Rukh Khan delivers a mesmerizing performance, showcasing versatility in his portrayal of a character with multiple shades. He successfully brings charm, intensity, madness, and heroism to his role, establishing himself as a true mass hero. His portrayal of the character’s various looks is commendable, and his transformation into a messiah fighting for social justice is both convincing and crowd-pleasing. His portrayal of the character’s father avatar also stands out as a highlight.
Nayanthara delivers a strong and meaty performance, adding depth to her character. Vijay Sethupathi’s performance is good but could have been better.
The ensemble cast provides solid support to the film’s narrative.
Direction and Others: Director Atlee has crafted a powerful and mass-appealing script that is rooted in emotion and inspiration. His execution of key scenes, including Shah Rukh Khan’s entry, the metro sequence, chase sequence, interval, and climax, is excellent and evokes goosebumps. The interval block is particularly highlighted as one of the greatest ever in the film.
The film benefits significantly from Anirudh’s brilliant background music, which enhances the overall impact. G K Vishnu’s cinematography is also noteworthy
Music and BGM: Anirudh’s background music plays a pivotal role in elevating the film’s impact, making it a second lead hero of the movie. The music and BGM contribute to the overall entertainment value of the film.

The film has the potential to surpass the 500 crore mark at the box office, potentially creating a 600 crore nett club for a Bollywood film and achieving a worldwide gross exceeding 1000 crores.
