In a thrilling revelation for fans of Bengali cinema, the makers of “Dawshom Awbotaar” have recently shared the first look of this highly anticipated crime thriller. Srijit Mukherji, known for his prowess in the thriller genre, is set to deliver another spine-chilling masterpiece.
Mukherji, a National Award-winning director, has returned to his home turf with a unique concept – Tollywood’s first cop universe. This exciting project marks a significant moment, as it has been 12 long years since one of Bengal’s most iconic characters bid adieu, only to now make a stunning comeback through the charismatic Prosenjit Chatterjee.
Chatterjee, renowned for his portrayal of iconic characters, will once again step into the shoes of his memorable role, promising an unforgettable performance in “Dawshom Awbotaar.” Anirban Bhattacharya, known for his stellar acting, will reprise the role of Bijoy Poddar from the hit film “Vinci Da.”
This period drama doesn’t just boast an impressive lead cast, as it also features the talented Jaya Ahsan and Jisshu Sengupta, among others, adding to the film’s star power.
“Dawshom Awbotaar” is a joint production between Jio Studios and SVF Entertainment, ensuring that the film receives the support and resources it deserves. Excitingly, the movie is scheduled to hit cinemas on October 20, just in time for the grand celebrations of Durga Puja, making it Srijit Mukherji’s first Puja release in four years. His last Durga Puja release was “Gumnaami” in 2019.The film’s music is composed by Anupam Roy.
