Raktabeej 2 Review : Weak Drama, Unimpressive Action, and Wasted Characters

Raktabeej 2 Fails to Match the Original’s Impact – Only the Last 30 Minutes Engage

Movie Rating

After the success of Raktabeej, expectations were high. Sadly, the sequel fails to capture the same impact.

⭐ Story & Screenplay

The film shifts its base from Bengal to Bangladesh, exploring terrorism, political tension, and cross-border missions. While the premise is ambitious, the execution is weak.

  • The drama never gets properly established, making it hard to connect emotionally.

  • The action sequences are not up to the mark and lack thrill.

  • The first half drags with too many unnecessary subplots.

  • The Abir–Mimi romance feels forced and further slows the narrative.

  • Only the last 30 minutes bring some intensity, especially with the Abir–Ankush showdown.

🎭 Performances

  • Abir Chatterjee & Mimi Chakraborty: Both are capable, but their chemistry feels flat and unconvincing.

  • Ankush Hazra: The saving grace—his intense, restrained performance shines in the climax.

  • Kanchan Mallick: His comedy is misplaced and becomes irritating.

  • Supporting Cast: Many characters feel unnecessary and underutilized, adding little to the story.

🎶 Music & Technicals

  • Songs are forgettable and lack recall value.

  • Cinematography and production are decent, but can’t mask the weak writing and sloppy screenplay.

✅ Positives

  • Last 30 minutes engaging.

  • Abir–Ankush face-off.

  • One cameo works well.

❌ Negatives

  • Drama not properly established.

  • Action sequences fail to impress.

  • Messy screenplay with unnecessary characters.

  • Forced Abir–Mimi romance.

  • Dragging first half.

  • Forgettable music.

  • Irritating comedy portions.

🎥 Verdict

Raktabeej 2 is a below-average sequel dragged down by poor screenplay, weak drama, unimpressive action, and unnecessary characters. Apart from the climax and Ankush’s performance, the film fails to leave a mark.

👉 Better skip this one if you loved the first Raktabeej.
