In a major casting development, Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has officially joined the cast of Spirit, an upcoming action-packed cop thriller directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The film stars pan-India icon Prabhas in the lead role and marks the second collaboration between Deepika and Prabhas after the much-anticipated sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD.
Sources close to the project revealed that Deepika had initially declined the role due to scheduling conflicts. However, with the production timeline now adjusted, the actress has confirmed her involvement, adding major star power to the already high-profile film.
Spirit is expected to be a gripping, intense story set in a gritty backdrop, promising powerful performances and high-octane action sequences. With Vanga’s proven track record from Arjun Reddy and Animal, the film is generating strong buzz across the industry.
The film will be made in multiple languages, further cementing its pan-Indian appeal and boosting its global reach. Shooting is expected to begin later this year.
