A new suspense thriller, Dowhill, based on true events, is set to start filming in North Bengal later this month. The movie follows a couple who go missing while hiking in the deep forests of North Bengal. Their friends travel from Calcutta to search for them but soon find themselves caught in a web of mystery.
The film’s story will unfold in the scenic pine forests of Darjeeling, Kurseong, Kalimpong, and Lepcha, with 80% of the movie being shot on location. Directed by Jeet Chakraborty and Jewel Siddiqui, Dowhill will have its first shoot in late August, with the next phase scheduled after Durga Puja. The movie is expected to release in the latter half of 2024.
The cast includes Jeet Chakraborty, Sumit Chowdhury, Soumen Roy Chowdhury, Bikash Gupta, Supriya Laha, and Sakshi Roy, with Jewel Siddiqui also serving as the cinematographer.
