Dhurandhar Review : Ranveer Fires Up the Screen, but Akshaye Khanna Owns Dhurandhar

Movie Rating

Story

Dhurandhar is a dark espionage thriller set in the world of covert intelligence, gang networks, and high-stakes missions. The narrative follows secret operations, betrayals, and revenge, moving between political conspiracies and underworld dealings.

The story is ambitious, layered, and filled with twists — but sometimes tries to handle too many subplots at once. Still, it manages to keep audiences hooked with tension and surprises.

Star Performances

Akshaye Khanna steals the show. His expressions, controlled intensity, and screen presence are outstanding. Every scene he appears in becomes sharper and more dramatic. The audience praise is absolutely justified.

Sanjay Dutt is impressive and impactful. Calm, powerful, and effortless — he gives weight to the film.

Ranveer Singh delivers high-voltage energy. Raw action, emotional depth, and a strong comeback performance.

Supporting cast including R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal add depth and make the narrative feel richer.

Music & Background Score

The background score is strong and elevates major sequences. It adds tension and atmosphere in action and emotional scenes.

Songs are limited, and this works well — the film doesn’t break flow for musical moments, keeping the focus on storytelling.

The Good

✔️ Outstanding performances, especially Akshaye Khanna

✔️ Stylish action sequences and tight camera work

✔️ Intense drama, espionage twists, and emotional moments

✔️ Strong background score and production design

✔️ Engaging first half and powerful climax portions

The Bad

❌ Lengthy runtime — feels stretched in parts

❌ Too many subplots packed together

❌ Some cliché dialogues and familiar tropes

❌ Pacing dips in a few midway sequences

The Last Word

Dhurandhar is a smart, stylish, performance-driven thriller that entertains, surprises, and keeps the audience invested. Even with its flaws, the film stands tall because of its cast — especially Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt — and its gritty action storytelling.

Worth watching on the big screen.

A powerful, dramatic entertainer.
