Tata Steel Kolkata 25K Announces Registration for 8th Edition of the World Athletics Silver Label Race

Procam International, the pioneers of distance running in India, have officially announced the commencement of registrations for the 8th edition of the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, the only World Athletics Accredited 25K race in the world. The event, scheduled for Sunday, December 17, 2023, promises to be a celebration of fitness, inclusivity, and the vibrant spirit of Kolkata.

Registration for all five race categories will open on September 22, 2023, at 7:00 a.m. IST and will remain open until November 24, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. IST, or until all running places are filled, whichever comes first. Interested participants can register at tatasteelkolkata25k.procam.in/.

The Tata Steel Kolkata 25K has become a symbol of Kolkata’s energy and unity, bringing citizens together to promote health and fitness. The event is set to be flagged off from the iconic Red Road, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

Debashish Kumar, MLA, MMIC – KMC, expressed his excitement about the event and its role in promoting sports in the country. He emphasized the need for such events to popularize sports and offered full support on behalf of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, highlighted the event’s significance in uniting the people of Kolkata and promoting distance running as a sport. He expressed confidence that the 8th edition would achieve new levels of success.

The Tata Steel Kolkata 25K is known for its commitment to inclusion, offering various race categories suitable for participants of all ages and abilities. These categories include the 25K feature race, the open 10K, the Ananda Run (4.5 km), Champions with Disability, and the Silvers Run (2.3 km). Limited spots are reserved for women in both the 25K and open 10K races to encourage their participation.

IDFC FIRST Bank, the exclusive Associate Sponsor, is contributing to the event’s social impact with innovative offerings that benefit both runners and society. Naarayan TV, CMO, IDFC FIRST Bank, expressed the bank’s excitement to be a part of an event that celebrates Kolkata and its people.

Jhulan Goswami spoke about the importance of running in her life and encouraged everyone to take part in the event. Koushani Mukherjee expressed her belief in women’s power to bring about change and invited all to join the vibrant spirit of Kolkata.

The event also features exclusive race day and finisher tees, provided by T10, India’s leading sportswear brand. Cadbury FUSE joins as the Snacking Partner, offering runners the right energy mix to keep them going.

The Silvers Run, a special category within the race, emphasizes physical activity for seniors and equal opportunities for all. Emoha, a non-profit organization, will support this initiative.
