Set against the backdrop of contrasting cultures, the film beautifully explores the love story between the exuberant Punjabi boy, Rocky, and the intellectual Bengali journalist, Rani. Amidst the romance, the movie delivers a powerful message, subtly addressing the issue of patriarchy entrenched in society.
The film thrives on the stellar performances of its cast, with Alia Bhatt shining as the feisty and vivacious Rani Chatterjee. Her portrayal breathes life into the character, drawing the audience into her world. The film’s second half suffers from uneven pacing, and the loss of momentum impacts the overall engagement factor during certain portions. A tighter edit in the second half would have helped maintain the film’s overall momentum and kept the audience more invested.
