Prosenjit Chatterjee’s New Look Grabs Attention
The latest poster features Prosenjit Chatterjee in a completely different avatar. Sporting a clean-shaven look, short hair, glasses, a half-sleeved bush shirt and a stethoscope, the actor appears as a doctor in the film.
However, it is the central visual of the poster that has caught the most attention. A weighing scale is placed in front of Prosenjit, with stacks of money on one side and a critically ill patient lying on a hospital bed on the other.
The powerful imagery appears to raise a central question of the film—what matters more, money or human life?
Announcing the change in release date, Prosenjit wrote:
“Money is valuable… life is priceless… The date may move from September 4 to September 18, but let the day change… Doctor Kaku is coming!”
Is ‘Doctor Kaku’ Based on a Real Doctor?
According to producer and actress Ena Saha, Doctor Kaku is not a biopic of any particular real-life doctor.
Instead, the film draws inspiration from the many doctors who dedicate themselves to their patients, often putting aside their personal lives and family commitments.
At the heart of the story is an idealistic doctor whose professional responsibilities are closely connected with his personal struggles.
A Father-Son Story at Its Core
Alongside the medical and social themes, the relationship between a father and his son will reportedly play an important role in the film.
The story is expected to explore the emotional equation between the two, while also focusing on the challenges faced by a doctor who tries to remain committed to his principles.

Riddhi Sen and Ena Saha Also Star
Apart from Prosenjit Chatterjee, the film features Riddhi Sen and Ena Saha in important roles.
The cast also includes Tulika Basu, Suchandra and Srilagna Bandyopadhyay, among others. Director Pavel will also appear in a special role in the film.
Doctor Kaku is presented by Metatron Productions and produced by Ena Saha and Banani Saha. The film is directed by Pavel.
With its socially relevant subject, emotional father-son storyline and Prosenjit Chatterjee’s striking new look, Doctor Kaku has already generated curiosity among Bengali cinema audiences.
The film will now release in theatres on September 18, 2026.
