Windows Production has unveiled the official teaser of ‘Bohurupi – The Golden Daku’, the much-awaited sequel to the 2024 blockbuster ‘Bohurupi’. The teaser brings back Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s popular character Bikram Pramanik and promises a larger scale, intense action and a powerful new conflict.

Bikram Pramanik Returns With a New Face-Off

The teaser hints at a high-voltage confrontation between Bikram Pramanik, played by Shiboprosad Mukherjee, and a new character portrayed by Jisshu Sengupta. While the complete details of the conflict are still under wraps, the teaser suggests that their face-off will be one of the major highlights of the sequel.

Speaking about the film, Shiboprosad Mukherjee revealed the massive scale of the production. According to him, the film was shot across 96 locations, involving nearly 2,500 artists, including principal and supporting performers.

The shoot reportedly took place across several locations in Bengal, including Hasnabad, Taki, Barasat, Bardhaman, Bolpur, Bishnupur and Malda.

Bengal’s Folk Culture Returns

Like the first instalment, folk artists remain an important part of ‘Bohurupi – The Golden Daku’. The sequel further expands this cultural element with the participation of Gambhira folk artists from Malda.

Their traditional songs, masks and performances add another layer of Bengal’s folk heritage to the film, while keeping the cultural identity of the Bohurupi universe intact.

The teaser offers glimpses of intense confrontations, larger action sequences and characters deeply connected to Bengal’s cultural landscape. At the same time, the film appears to retain the rooted storytelling that helped the original Bohurupi connect with audiences.

Shiboprosad, Jisshu, Koushani and Sohini Lead the Cast

Shiboprosad Mukherjee, Jisshu Sengupta, Koushani Mukherjee and Sohini Sarkar headline the cast of the upcoming film.

The film is directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee and produced by Windows Production.

‘Bohurupi – The Golden Daku’ Release Date

The much-awaited Bengali film is scheduled to release during Durga Puja 2026, with the teaser announcing 15 October 2026 as the release date.

With Bikram Pramanik making his return, a new and powerful face-off, 96 shooting locations, nearly 2,500 artists and Bengal’s rich folk traditions at its core, ‘Bohurupi – The Golden Daku’ is shaping up to be one of the major Bengali releases of Durga Puja 2026.
