Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata Marks 10 Years, Registrations Open for World’s First Gold Label 25K Race

The Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata, Eastern India’s most celebrated running event, enters its 10th anniversary this year with a landmark achievement — it is now the world’s first World Athletics Gold Label 25K race. Scheduled for Sunday, December 21, 2025, the iconic run will see elite international and Indian athletes alongside thousands of amateur participants racing down Kolkata’s historic Red Road.

 

Registrations for both the on-ground and virtual editions open tomorrow, Friday, September 12, 2025, at 7 AM on tatasteelworld25k.procam.in. Categories include the 25K, Open 10K, Ananda Run (4.5K), Senior Citizens Run, and Champions with Disability (2.5K), as well as virtual runs across 25K, 10K, and 5K.

Bhaichung Bhutia (former Indian football captain) and Srabanti Chatterjee (actress) join as event ambassadors.

 

Medal of Steel for all 25K finishers, crafted from Tata Steel.
