Shaan, Akriti Kakkar and Nikhita Gandhi of Ananya Birla’s team on Indian Pro Music League ‘Bengal Tigers’ In Kolkata Today To Rally for Votes

Zee TV has been a pioneer and a trend-setter in shaping television content over the past three decades and once again, it seems to be changing the face of music reality shows with its latest non-fiction property, the Indian Pro Music League (IPML). In a clutter-breaking format innovation, Zee TV launched the world’s first-ever music league championship at the end of last month. While the world of sports has seen several league competitions, this unique music league has six teams representing different regions of India, battling it out against each other in a musical championship. Each of these six teams supported by leading Bollywood and sports celebrities has top playback singers as their captains, one reality show star, and one fresh voice. Celebrated singers – Mika Singh, Kailash Kher, Sajid Khan, Shaan, Ankit Tiwari, Javed Ali, Asees Kaur, Bhoomi Trivedi, Akriti Kakar, Payal Dev, Neha Bhasin, Shilpa Rao are captains of these six zonal teams.

Ananya Birla’s team – Bengal Tigers, led by captains such as the immensely popular singer Shaan and the supremely talented Akriti Kakkar includes talent powerhouses like Rituraj Mohanty and the debutant Mismi Bose. The latest addition to the team is popular playback singer Nikhita Gandhi who has been roped in as the team’s All-Rounder. It is one of the strongest teams of Indian Pro Music League. While they have already dazzled the audience with their jaw-dropping performances on the show, Shaan, Akriti and Nikhita visited the city of joy, Kolkata to interact with the audience on their home turf and rally for votes.

Team owner, Ananya Birla said, “I have a very deep connection with Kolkata; it’s a second home for us. I would always look forward to our trips to the city to visit Bade Dadoji and Ba (my great grand parents). I am really happy to have gotten the opportunity to represent Bengal. My team the Bengal Tigers is excited to be in the city, and we hope that the people of Bengal are loving the show, and enjoying the acts we are putting together for them. Thank you for all the love you have showered upon us every match, and we hope to do you proud in the upcoming weeks and take Bengal to the finale.”

As Bengal Tigers captain Shaan mentioned, “It is a totally different feeling everytime I come to Kolkata. Even though I’m not born here but it will always be home for me. The audience, the people, the vibe, everything is very welcoming. I hope our people keep supporting Bengal Tigers in the Indian Pro Music League and we can take the trophy home.”
Co-captain Akriti Kakkar also added, “I’m always very happy to be visiting Kolkata. The entire team is very happy and excited for this visit as we are looking forward to connect with our audience and people supporting us. All I can say is that I am really happy that I represent Bengal Tigers in the Indian Pro Music League.”

The latest addition to the Bengal Tigers team, all rounder Nikhita Gandhi also added, “I am really excited to be a part of the Bengal Tigers team. Shaan, Akriti, Rituraj and Mismi are incredible to work with. I had a great time shooting the latest episode with them.”
