In a much-anticipated cinematic portrayal of Bengali history, young actor Samiul Alam has risen to prominence for his portrayal of the youngest martyr of the country, Khudiram Bose, in Dev’s upcoming film ‘Baghajatin‘. Directed by Arun Roy, this historical epic promises to bring to life the heroic stories of Bengal’s iconic figures.
The casting of ‘Baghajatin‘ has been meticulously handled by Srija Bhattacharya, who embarked on a year-and-a-half-long quest to find actors and actresses from various parts of Bengal and beyond. Her relentless efforts took her from Odisha to Punjab, Hyderabad to Mumbai, in search of individuals who could authentically embody the essence of historical characters.
Today, Dev unveiled the look of Khudiram Bose, portrayed by the talented Samiul Alam, who, at just nineteen years of age, has taken on the daunting task of bringing this Bengali icon to life on the silver screen. The audience has been captivated by Samiul’s portrayal, eagerly anticipating his performance in the film.
Adding to the ensemble cast, Sajal Mondal takes on the role of Arvinda Ghosh, while the versatile actress Sudipta Chakraborty graces the screen as Vinodbala. Television star Rohan Bhattacharya steps into the shoes of Chittapriya Chowdhury, and newcomer Sreeja Dutta shines as the film’s heroine.
