A long-cherished dream of filmmaker and actor Shiboprosad Mukherjee is finally set to become a reality. Shiboprosad has confirmed that he and filmmaker Nandita Roy will be collaborating with veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty on their next film, which is planned for release in 2027.
Shiboprosad made the announcement through a heartfelt Facebook post, confirming that the upcoming project will be a special film for Windows Production House.
Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Dream to Work with Mithun Chakraborty
For Shiboprosad, the collaboration is more than just another film. He revealed that working with Mithun Chakraborty had been one of his childhood dreams.
Having grown up watching Mithun in iconic films such as Agneepath, Disco Dancer, Do Anjaane and Dance Dance, Shiboprosad described the veteran actor as an inspiration who transcends language and geographical boundaries.
He also recalled Mithun’s memorable contribution to Bengali cinema, saying that the actor has always represented the limitless possibilities of performance.
Mithun Chakraborty Loved the Story
According to Shiboprosad, he and Mithun had known each other professionally for some time and had previously discussed the possibility of working together. The right opportunity, however, took time to arrive.
When Shiboprosad finally narrated the story to Mithun, the veteran actor reportedly reacted enthusiastically.
“You nailed it! This is my life story,” Mithun told Shiboprosad after hearing the narration, according to the filmmaker’s Facebook post.
Shiboprosad also shared a memorable interaction from an earlier occasion when Mithun was in the United States. After receiving a voice note from Shiboprosad, Mithun reportedly called him back and jokingly told him that there was no need for a lengthy introduction because he was already ready to work with him.
Mithun Chakraborty’s 2027 Film with Windows Production House
The upcoming film will be produced under Windows Production House and will be part of the banner’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
The project will bring together Mithun Chakraborty, Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy in a collaboration that is already generating considerable curiosity among Bengali cinema audiences.
While the film’s title, storyline, character details and shooting schedule have not yet been officially revealed, Shiboprosad has indicated that more details will be announced in due course.
