Manipal Hospitals EM Bypass, a unit of one of India’s leading healthcare networks, Manipal Hospitals Group, has launched MAHI (Manipal Hospitals Healthy India)—a new, consumer-focused preventive health and wellness platform—marking a significant step towards making proactive healthcare more accessible and personalised. The launch event in Kolkata was attended by senior clinicians and key stakeholders, highlighting the growing shift towards wellness-led healthcare in India.
MAHI has been introduced as a friendly, dependable, and personalised health companion aimed at simplifying preventive care for individuals and families. Designed as a humanised, quick-response wellness platform, MAHI supports users across their health journey—from awareness and screenings to doctor consultations and adult vaccinations—encouraging a shift from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.
Comprehensive Preventive Care Ecosystem
MAHI brings together a connected suite of services under one platform:
-
MAHI Check: Curated and customised health screening packages
-
MAHI Doc: 24×7 access to doctor consultations
-
MAHI Shots: Adult and preventive vaccination services
The platform offers profile-based packages for Teens, Men, Women, Seniors, and Super Seniors; condition-based packages covering Diabetes, PCOS, Thyroid disorders, Cardiac Risk, and Cancer Markers; and organ-specific packages focused on Heart, Liver, Kidney, Lung, Eye, Thyroid, and Bone health. These offerings are being rolled out in a phased manner to address evolving health needs across life stages.
Accessible via digital channels such as website and app, along with assisted touchpoints within hospitals and community settings, MAHI is positioned as an easy-to-use, engaging solution for routine health monitoring, expert guidance, and timely immunisation.
Rising Need for Preventive Healthcare
Speaking at the event, doctors underlined India’s rapid transition towards preventive healthcare. Industry estimates project the preventive health market to reach over ₹16,000 crore by 2026, growing at a 22% CAGR, while the health check-up segment alone is expected to cross ₹10,000 crore by 2030. Post-COVID surveys indicate a 40% shift towards preventive care and a 94% rise in health awareness, even as India continues to face a high chronic disease burden, with over 270 million people living with or at risk of chronic conditions.
Clinicians noted that despite growing awareness, preventive measures such as annual health screenings and adult vaccinations remain underutilised due to low awareness, cost perceptions, and behavioural resistance. MAHI aims to overcome these barriers by encouraging a “want-to” wellness mindset instead of a “have-to” illness approach.
