Filmfare Awards Bangla 2025 : A Grand Celebration of Bengali Cinema

The grand celebration of Bengali cinema, Joy Filmfare Awards Bangla 2025, took place at JW Marriott, Kolkata, bringing together the finest talents, outstanding performances, and artistic brilliance under one roof. The event honored exceptional achievements in Bengali films, with Bohurupi and Manikbabur Megh emerging as the biggest winners of the night.

Bohurupi and Manikbabur Megh Shine Bright

Bohurupi dominated the awards, bagging seven trophies, including Best Film, Best Director (Nandita Roy & Shiboprosad Mukherjee), and Best Actor (Male) for Shiboprosad Mukherjee. The critically acclaimed Manikbabur Megh followed closely with six awards, securing accolades in categories such as Best Film (Critics’), Best Actor (Critics’), and Best Original Story.

The Best Actress (Female) award was won by Subhashree Ganguly for her powerful performance in Babli, while the Best Actress (Critics’) honor went to Mamata Shankar for her role in Bijoyar Pore. Chaalchitra Ekhon and Padatik also made their mark, winning multiple awards across different categories.

A Night of Stellar Performances

The event was not just about awards but also about entertainment. Subhashree Ganguly set the stage on fire with an electrifying performance, dancing alongside Mimi Chakraborty, Monami Ghosh, Rituparna Sengupta, Koushani Mukherjee, and Jaya Ahsan to her popular track ‘Mala Re’ from Romeo.

  • Puja Banerjee, who wowed the audience with ‘Chadd Gaya Pyaar Ka Bukhaar’ and ‘Police Chorer Preme Poreche’
  • Parambrata Chattopadhyay & Koushani Mukherjee, who performed a special act from their film Killbill Society
  • Singini Chowdhury & Cizzy, who delivered a mesmerizing act on their hit track ‘Ula La’

Honoring Legends

A major highlight of the evening was the Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to veteran actor Biswajit Chatterjee, recognizing his exceptional contributions to Bengali cinema.
