The trailer of Prem Game released today and the audience are in for fun romantic ride with a twist. It is a coming of age bengali dating show that blends between fiction and reality and brings out the quirky nature of the present day dating scenario in Kolkata.
Shot in five different cafes in Kolkata ( 5MM, Byloom Canteen, La Macario Cafe, Symi Cafe and Bianco) , it is a mock dating show where people meet for the first time in a blind date and it turns out to an exciting one.
Hosted by Kheya Chattopadhyay and Prosun Saha the series will have 5 episodes Yeh ishq nahi aasaan, Chemical locha, Strawberry Kiss, Good friend, Honorary Bengali releasing every week.
Show creator Arkav said : “The idea behind making a fictional dating game show was to reflect the desires, expectations and assumptions of the urban youth when they set out to seek partners today. Having traditional Bengali hosts playing anchors, we wanted to compare the changing notions of love and romance or whether in matters of the heart, some things actually change at all!”
While creator Anusuya added “Dating in 2021 is as difficult as it is easy. We are always looking for love but we are apprehensive about how vulnerable it makes us. In this age of online dating apps, we have brought out our classic matchmakers (or ghotoks,here) on these contemporary beings. What ensues is what you see in Prem Game.”
