In a strong and emotional response, Prosenjit Chatterjee addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Dev’s “72-hour ban removal” statement. Referring to the April 7 meeting, Prosenjit revealed that he had advised Dev not to make such statements immediately, as the industry was still emotionally shaken over Rahul’s death.
He clearly stated that he never had the ability or authority to take such a “72-hour challenge” and expressed disappointment that the letter was made public without informing him. According to Prosenjit, he deserved to be consulted before such a sensitive matter was shared publicly.
Highlighting the seriousness of the situation, he emphasized that this is not the time to discuss bans or boycotts. Instead, the focus should remain on seeking answers regarding Rahul’s death, even after 14 days with no clear resolution.
Prosenjit further added that the Artist Forum has never supported or used terms like “ban” or “boycott,” reinforcing that unity and clarity are the need of the hour in Tollywood.
