Jeet to Portray Ananta Singh in Upcoming Biopic ‘Keu Bole Biplobi, Keu Bole Dakat’ — Directed by Pathikrit Basu
Kolkata, 20 June 2025: Celebrated Bengali actor Jeet is all set to collaborate with director Pathikrit Basu and Nandi Movies for the very first time in a gripping biopic titled “Keu Bole Biplobi, Keu Bole Dakat”, based on the life of the enigmatic historical figure Ananta Singh. The film is slated for release on 15th August 2026, coinciding with India’s Independence Day.
Set against the backdrop of 1960s Kolkata, the film explores the complex life of Ananta Singh—who remains a polarising figure in Bengal’s socio-political history. To some, he was a revolutionary hero who robbed the rich to help the poor; to others, a feared outlaw and master of deception. Jeet will step into the shoes of Ananta, portraying the layered personality of a man driven by a haunting past and righteous fury.

Speaking about the project, director Pathikrit Basu said, “Ananta is not just a character—he’s a symbol of rebellion, pain, and duality. With Jeet in the lead, this story will find both power and soul. If everything goes as planned, we are targeting a grand Independence Day release in 2026.”
The film’s music will be composed by Rajat Ghosh from Basirhat, a name not widely known in the mainstream industry yet but carrying a powerful backstory. A lifelong admirer of Jeet, Rajat grew up reciting his dialogues and singing his film songs. Today, the fan turns composer—marking his biggest career milestone by composing for a Jeet-starrer. “This is not just music, this is my emotion,” Rajat shared. “For me and Basirhat, this is a moment of pride that we will remember forever.”
With its mix of history, rebellion, emotion, and star power, “Keu Bole Biplobi, Keu Bole Dakat” is expected to be one of the most anticipated Bengali films of 2026.
