What’s Good: The one liners are so lame that they are funny. The entertaining screenplay; a majority of the comedy dialogues & even more amazingly performed,
What’s Bad: A few gags that don’t work; a few boring portions in the pre-interval portion.
Loo Break: Not needed because there are funny moments to hold you back.
Watch or Not?: It’s a clean family entertainer with some funny moments throughout, if that’s what you’re looking for this week, you can go ahead.
Story :Rajat and Anupam are hen-pecked at home and dreary at work. Rajat’s homely wife, Maya (Sohini Sarkar), is immersed in her daily pujas and megaserials, tying madulis for good fortune in every limb of her husband. Anupam’s wife Rai (Nusraat Faria), on the other hand, is a sort of ‘urban revolutionary’, attending rallies and protests across the city. One has too much adoration for her husband while the other has no time for him. Feeling stuck, Rajat and Anupam concoct an escape to Darjeeling for a few days. But it doesn’t go according to plan as they are kidnapped by dacoits on the way.
Star Performance :
Ankush delivers a sweet & innocent performance.Anirban is the biggest take away from the film.He deservingly gets some of the best dialogues and he delivers the same with proper touch of madness. Rudranil Ghosh , proves yet again why he’s on his way to achieving the status of most-loved actors of tollywood. Nusrat Faria , the charming relief of the film, tries too hard to make her presence feel.Sohini Sarkar does a fine job .Priyanka Sarkar is just for short time but fulfills her presence with the grace that was required for her role.others offer good support.
Direction, Music :
Birsa Dasgupta ’s delivers on his promise of an entertaining package. Although he could have made the drama sharper, and hence, more entertaining, one cannot really complain much about his narrative style. The story of Bibaho Obhijaan, penned by Rudranil Ghosh, is entertaining and gives a lot of scope for comedy.
The less I talk about the songs, the better. Background score is good in certain portions but on the whole, nothing remarkable.
ll said and done, Bibaho Obhijaan continues the golden run of entertaining movies of 2019. dialogues and some very good performances are worthy of your time. Give it a chance if you’re looking for a light-hearted comedy.
I am going with a 3/5 for the film
