Satyajit Ray: A name that renowned all over the world for his contribution to Indian Cinemas. Ray was born in Kolkata (Calcutta) on 2nd May 1921 in a Bengali Family and was a son of Sukumar Roy who was an eminent poet and writer of Bengali Literature.  Ray was an eminent filmmaker of 20th Century and his contribution to Indian Cinema was remarkable. Being a Bengali he used to make movies in his native Language Bengali, he got many national and international awards for his contribution.


Ray directed 36 movies, including short movies and documentaries, he was not just only flim-maker, he was fiction writer, publisher, illustrator, calligrapher, music composer, graphic designer and film critic. He was a talent box, and we tribute him today on his birthday.

Every true artist still date want to be like him, he died on 23rd April 1992, but his work and contributions to Indian Cinemas is still regarded as the best. No one was like him , no one could be.


Ray’s first film, Pather Panchali (1955), won eleven worldwide prizes, including the inaugural Best Human Document honor at the 1956 Cannes Film Festival. This film, along Aparajito (1956), and Apur Sansar (The World of Apu) (1959) structure The Apu Trilogy. Ray did the scripting,casting, scoring, and editing, and composed his own credit titles and reputation material. Ray got many real grants in his vocation, including 32 Indian National Film Awards, various recompenses at global film celebrations and grant functions, and an Academy Honorary Award in 1992. The Government of India regarded him with the Bharat Ratna in 1992.


Ray was no less than a hero, his contribution towards Indian Society and Cinema is an Inspiration to all youth, who want to be an aspiring filmmaker, writer, or a good human. Wish him a very happy birthday on his birthday.
