One lakh trees to be planted in Kolkata West International City

Kolkata West International City (KWIC) residents celebrated the 71st Indian Independence Day with the flag hoisting ceremony and by planting trees to aim for a greener and pollution free environment. With this vision in mind, the Management has pledged to plant almost one lakh trees within their township. Mr. Anandarup Bandyopadhyay, Director, Kolkata West International City was present at the occasion.

To take this initiative forward, the first step has already been taken on the Independence Day by opening one more park for the residents of KWIC.

Mr. Anandarup Bandyopadhyay, Director, Kolkata West International City said, “In a recent environmental impact assessment study, it has been revealed that in compared to other areas in and around Howrah, the pollution level in our Kolkata West International City township is quite low. We are proud that with these initiatives we are able to contribute to our surrounding environment.”

The residential township has more than 900 bungalows at the moment, among which most of them has already been completely handover. 400 families currently reside in KWIC.
