Addatimes presents next Webseries “Khyapa”

India's first Bengali original content online viewing site addatimes.com is all set to launch its latest Webseries Khyapa. It is a moving story of soul searching of a youth and seeking nirvana through life. Our eponymous hero, a loser for all practical purposes, undertakes a journey to find the purpose of his life.

Arya Dasgupta, who plays Khyapa, is excited about his role. "This is not merely a character that I'm playing. It's a journey for me also to understand the difference between good and bad, right and wrong. Khyapa provides a different perspective towards life. My favourite is my interaction with my piglet, my friend and pet." Khyapa has Chingri and Meghla for company. Chingri becomes the subject of all his experiments and misadventures, while Meghla remains his bright spot in a world where he is a misfit. Chingri is played by Pushan Dasgupta, while Meghla is essayed by Diti Saha. The other pivotal characters are that of Khyapa's parents played by Lopamudra Sinha and Partha Pratim Mukhopadhyay and grandmother Debjani Dutta. Khyapa has a piglet named Suyorani. And the most novel part is that it can communicate with the protagonist.

"People are becoming mobile savvy every day. They do everything on the go. There is no time to find extra time for entertainment. It has to happen in between work. Addatimes is an effort in that direction to give entertainment on the move," said Rajiv Mehra, Director, Addatimes Media Pvt Ltd.

“Ideas develop in your mind in every step of growing up. Khyapa can be called partly a story of my growing up. School, opening up to new things, music, people etc that influenced me are part of the series,” said Riddhi Barua, who has created and scripted the series.

Addatimes brings to you a bold new Bengali content to be webcast. It ranges from a naughty noir series Detective B.C Baal to Khyapa—journey of salvation of a young soul- seeker. It has Dil Se that shows short films straight from the heart, besides cookery, fashion, live content and original music.

“It was great working with these young actors. They have new ideas and thought process which is interesting and it shows in the portrayal of the character. Riddhi Barua who has written the script has done a wonderful job,” said Korok Murmu, Director of Khyapa. All you need to do is log on to www.addatimes.com or download the free app on your mobile.
