Disability is an impairment that may physical, cognitive, intellectual, mental, sensory, developmental, or some combination of these that results in restrictions on an individual's ability to participate in what is considered "normal" in their everyday society. A disability may be present from birth or occur during a person's lifetime. To prove that disable persons are also able in another way, to prove their talents of creativity in the field of painting also, this innovative programme has been taken by NIP.

Mr. Debajyoti Roy, Secretary of NIP says, “Disability as a socially created problem and a matter of the full integration of individuals into society. Disability is not an attribute of an individual, but rather a complex collection of conditions, created by the social environment. The management of the problem requires social action and it is the collective responsibility of society to create a society in which limitations for people with disabilities are minimal.”
