41st Regional Conference organized by

Kolkata, 19th December, 2016 : The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) organized the 41st Regional Conference spread over two days (19th & 20th December 2016) at Kala Mandir, Kolkata with the theme “Innovate, Integrate, Implement – Road Ahead to Success” where in more than 1500 members would be attending the event from across India. This Regional conference is an endeavor to maintain and develop competencies of the members, to enhance their knowledge, expertise and skill sets in varied areas of the profession.

The Inaugural session of the 41st Regional Conference organized by ICAI & EIRC was attended by CA Nilesh S Vikamsey, Vice President, ICAI; CA Anirban Datta, Chairman, EIRC; CA Manish Goyal, Vice-Chairman, EIRC; Sushil Kumar Goyal, Council Member; CA. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, Council Member & many others.

Chartered Accountants are the road pavers of success for any economic venture. Be it of the local masses or the country as a whole. It is the strength of the reins which keeps one in the right pace routing towards destination and it is the Innovate, Integrate, Implement – Road Ahead to Success who control the reins. The first thought of Road Ahead to Success is built on three key principles: innovate, integrate, and implement. The beauty of Road Ahead of Success is that we can enjoy both the journey and the destination toward achieving our success. If we have a trusted system, then we can explore and experiment with speed and skill in a more reliable way. We can learn at a faster pace. We can enjoy a higher level of success. We can reduce the pain along the way. We also learn how to more effectively avoid the dead ends and fruitless paths.With our knowledge and application of skills, we Chartered Accountants are marching ahead in all spheres and our decision making abilities and insights are regularly tested and challenged. Our role is to stand by all tests of time and to prove as global leaders, patrons and a symbol to which this society can look up to. Having graced by a body which cloaks a veil of trust, responsibility and dignity, we ought to serve our profession in the best of interests of our country and prove to be global citizens in the times to come.

On this occasion, CA Anirban Datta, Chairman, EIRC stated, “I strongly believe that deliberations on topics by experts, specially chosen from all over the country would definitely aid the members in dealing with the issues with greater competence and confidence. The Technical Sessions are planned in a way that issues and deliberations are practical oriented and the Conference should turn out to be a fruitful, enlightening and educative experience for all the participants and a feast of knowledge is enjoyed by all.”

The Highlights of the programme included Opportunities to Interact with Experts where exclusive parallel sessions as per one’s interest were organised by various Committees of ICAI wherein critical issues were discussed and the initiatives of the Committees taken to empower and build the capacity of the members to deal their professional challenges with expertise and advices from the experts. The 41st Regional Conference also witnessed Opportunities to plan for tax deferment through innovative instruments and structures and discussion on topics like- Critical Issues on Auditing Standards; Recent changes in Accounting standards; Demonetization & other pertinent issues relating to Income Tax; Professional Opportunities in Transitional Provisions Of GST; Professional Oppurtunities & case studies in Forensic Audit; Penny stock, client code modifications, other burning issues including judicial pronouncements. Demonetization & its implications which were dealt in the Panel Discussion.

The 2-day Regional Conference was attended by: Members of ICAI / ICSI / ICAI (Cost)/ IFA / ICFAI Chartered Accountants in Practice; Chartered Accountants in Industry; Students of ICAI / ICSI / ICAI (Cost)/ IFA / ICFAI and Finance professionals. The Participants of this Regional Conference got the opportunity to have one-to-one meeting with more than 2500+ delegates, including speakers. This Regional Conference of EIRC is one and only mega event of the entire Eastern Region comprising of delegates from States viz., West Bengal, Orissa and entire North Eastern States of India apart from the participants from other Regions also.
