Silk Mark Sanman 16 hopes to provide both the fame and market for weavers

Silk Mark Sanman is one of it’s kind award that The Stadel & F3 Incorporation has brought together for boutiques, designers and weavers from across Bengal. The unsung heroes of Bengal who actually form the mainstream of Bangla’s fashion palette will get a chance to showcase their talent. The organisers feel it will motivate that section of designer boutique and weavers who want to get the platform to exhibit their artistic ideas as well as to get market.  There is a huge amount of talent that wants to find path to their destiny, Silk Mark Sanman hopes to provide both the fame and market for these talents.

Mr. Anil Bhutoria, Director, The Stadel : “We are a country rich in textiles & weaving skill. Handloom weaving constitutes one of the richest and most vibrant aspects of the Indian cultural heritage. It is also one of the largest unorganized economic activities after agriculture and constitutes an integral part of the rural and semi rural livelihood. Through this award we want to provide a platform for the weavers and allied workers and promote handloom and the rich textile heritage of India.”   

“This is one of its kind award. The unsung heroes of Bengal who are actually form the mainstream of Bangla’s fashion palette will get a chance to showcase their talent,” said Rajarshi Das, Owner f3incorporation.

And keeping in line with the strain of thought f3incorporation will felicitate iconic designer Sharbari Datta and Tollywood industry’s legendary costume designers & supplier Jakir Hussain Mullick and Shibu Das.  Ms. Alokananda Sarkar and Ms. Papia Singh Roy will also be felicitated as “Women Entrepreneurs”.

  “Jakir (da) and Shibu have adorned some of the biggest names of the industry for a variety of roles that films have demanded. They have been two of the most resourceful guys with deft understanding of scripts and characters. So it was only normal that they be felicitated,” Rajarshi added.
