Janmashtami Mahotsav- Shree Shyam Mandir Alamabazar

Lord Vishnu is believed to have various incarnations in order to establish the triumph of good over evil. One such exclusively worshipped incarnation of the Lord is Sri Krishna, whose birth is celebrated on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. Pertaining to this occasion, Sri Shyam Mandir at Alambazar celebrated their 5th Janmashtami Festival.

Influential people present in this holy occasion were MP Sougata Roy and MLA Vaishali Dalmia, a keen worshipper of Radha-Krishna. MLA Tapas Roy was also present there, and on asking him the reason he has rendered service to the making of this temple, he answered that he took keen participation because he believes that by carrying out such relegious tasks, good will surely overpower evil; and that he doesn't credit himself for this holy place because he believes that it was the Almighty 's power and blessings which helped them with it. The evening was graced by 5-6 devotional singers and countless devotees from all around had come together in the spirit of celebration. This place of worship had been founded by the likes of Raja Agarwal and Govind Murari Agarwal, along with the cooperation of other people.

Though not entirely developed yet, the construction of the temple will be completed shortly.
